Monte Rosso is one of California's most celebrated and historically significant vineyards. These vines were planted in 1886 -- making it the world's second oldest Sémillon. The craggy mountains and ancient vine maturity creates a wine that is simply exceptional. The Sémillon was picked at on 8/22 at 21.7. The wine was barrel fermented in 100% new Baron French oak 500L puncheons only using native yeast. The nose shows beautiful white flower mixed with squeezed citrus, a touch of mandarin orange blossom, crunchy apple, and a touch of pear. The mouth is bright and very focused backed by mineral, a kiss of crisp stone fruit, candied ginger, and beeswax.
