About the wine: Front Porch Farm is a truly special place... not only did Joella work there as a flower farmer, but they are a remarkable organic and diversified farm nestled alongside the Russian River in Healdsburg. The farm grows everything from heritage polenta, flowers, the most amazing produce: like 'eat them leaning over' peaches and the biggest juiciest blackberries you’d ever seen. And of course incredible grapes! As we would drive along the long dirt driveway down to the farm to visit Joella, we would pass beautifully planted grapes terraced into the hillside. We ogled after the vineyard for years. Let’s just say it had major curb appeal. Bush vines grown on a hillside with varying aspects and varieties. The Syrah and Grenache grow right next to each other on top of a beautiful hill and just below the Mourvèdre cradles the lower side of the hill. For this vintage all the grapes went into the same fermenter and were co-fermented. 2019 is a knockout: it is built for pleasure now and could age beautifully.

Aromatics: Beautiful and intense. The nose busts out of the glass with essence of dried lavender, grilled meats, plum sauce, autumn spice, and blueberry pie filling.

Mouth: The mouth is concentrated while still being graceful. Black cherry and plum dominate the mid palate. The finish turns to red fruit, framed by fine grained tannin that is sure to continue to add richness to the wine with time in the bottle.
