The 2017 Palmeri McCoy Vineyard Pinot Noir from Fountaingrove District. The vineyard sits at about 1,600 feet and is rooted in volcanic ash and stone. The wine is inviting and shows beautiful earth notes wrapped in dark fruit tones that give way to black raspberry, earl gray tea, and exotic wood. The mouth continues to showcase black tea, tinges of sandalwood, juicy Santa Rosa plum and smashed blueberry with a soft and focused mouth. The mouth is worthy of contemplation: In that it shows lush richness, bright acidity and interesting layers that continue to intrigue.
