The 2014 Palmeri Dark & Brooding Cabernet Sauvignon is deeply perfumed and superbly structured. The nose ranges from wet river pebble to pretty notes of ripe plum, split cedar, leaf tobacco, and Amarena cherries. The mouth is elegant showing a mix of blackberry, cherry, polished tannins, and black licorice.
This year's blend is 86% Cabernet Sauvignon from Sweetwater Saddle Vineyard and 14% Syrah from Van Ness Vineyard.
